Marriage Made In Heaven

On their way to get married, a young Catholic couple is involved in a
fatal car accident.

The couple find themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gate waiting for

St. Peter to process them into Heaven.

While waiting, they begin to wonder: Could they possibly get married

in Heaven? When St. Peter showed up, they asked him.

St. Peter says, 'I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked.

Let me go find out,' and he leaves.

The couple sat and waited, and waited. Two months passed and the

couple is still waiting. As they waited, they discussed that if they were

allowed to get married in Heaven, what was the eternal aspect of it all.

'What if it doesn't work?' they wondered, 'Are we stuck together forever?'

After yet another month, St. Peter finally returns, looking somewhat be-

dragged. 'Yes,' he informs the couple, 'you can get married in Heaven.'

'Great!' said the couple, 'But we were just wondering, what if things

don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?'

St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slams his clipboard onto the ground.

What's wrong?' asked the frightened couple.

"OH, COME ON !' St. Peter shouts, 'It took me three months just to find

a priest up here! Do you have any idea how long it'll take me to find

a lawyer?'

I don't know why the underline is on or how to turn it off so just deal with it... This is Charles' Plant... New and Thriving...there are times that I wish that I could be as new and as thriving as plant life... but more often than not I am run down and overlooked like the dirt that it grows in...

Self esteem is an important trait ... and I think my son's is doing great judging by how well his plant is growing... and how proud he is of it.... I am so proud of my son too....

Coast Con Slide Show...

I've been busy...

I have been a busy body of late and haven't had much opportunity to sit and post anything of value lately for a number of reasons. The transition back to work has been the most obvious, but there have been other ones such as my responsibilities as a Mom, and then there is that Coast Con32 thing too.

I assure my friends out there that I am still alive and caring for my children and husband, and my job isn't suffering too terribly either. I did get to work the convention and met several wonderful people while having a blast in the process. Kahunah and I were also recognized on a couple of guest blogs (John Picacio's Blog and Mark Van Name's Blog too) for our good old southern hospitality, recommendations of dining venues, and stories of survival and recovery from that good old "K" word that we would all love to forget.... Feel free to visit the convention site and follow the guest links to read up on their experiences...

I tried salmon roe for the first time today at shogun... It was interesting but i don't think i will order it again...

the next adventure will be sea urchin... but I will save that for the next trip...

I am alive... I have simply returned to work and have no life ...

When I do get home, I find my six year old hogging the computer, and I am too tired to do anything but be trampled by my three year old terror...

My wonderful husband has been cooking and wrangling the kids for me... tending to the chores... and trying to make sure I don't fall apart at the seems... but I still feel tattered and bruised...

I did return to work hearing lots of rumors to my disappearance... that I had acquired a job with P&G... that I was permanently disabled... Oh the fates that I was dealt... In fact, some heads whipped around so hard to give me a second glance that I would swear a couple of people would be filing workman's comp for whiplash...

Anyways, I am back, and working... yay

Back in the day, I worked for the big "We Be Toys" chain... and during our over night shift work, we tolerated lots of piped in kids music... lots of it was lullaby stuff that would put you to sleep, but we really appreciated the up beat stuff that would help keep us awake like the Animaniacs... Back in the hospital again... Pint size had am episode of respitory distress... So we are back at the ER... What a day...

Can You use Happy and Hospital in the same sentence?

Ah, my little munchkin is finally checked into Children's Hospital under non-emergency status while happily smiling at mommy and daddy... This shot of him is just before they gave him the goofy juice, and yes he put up a fight to get it in him as usual, but boy, did he mellow out afterwards... not comical enough to take videos like I had of Short Stuff, but to watch my litter pooter just be amazed, laid back and smiling at the ceiling was pretty cool...

The surgery went well... the doctor said that the fluid that was built up behind his ear drum was like sucking out the consistency of a garden slug. He didn't think that my little angel could hear anything at all... which was supported by my boo's reaction to me singing to him in recovery... he just tilted his head and looked at my eyes and mouth and touched my face... it just made me cry... you would think that his speech therapist at school would have noticed this... or his doctor would have picked up on this sooner... I have already made the necessary phone calls to change his school... I will blog about the 'final straw' that drove me to this decision later..

But in the mean time, know that my boo is resting comfortably on baby loretabs... and snores just a fraction of his previous capability...

I am so tickled that my baby can hear me...

Short Stuff is officially corrupted by homework-haters society... my little first grader has come home for the past week and a half insisting that he has not had homework while Kahuna and I suspiciously questioned, 'are you sure?'...

we listened to stories of, the teacher is busy, the teacher's cat is sick... you can't call the teacher to check cause the teacher's cat is bad and will bite her (last night's excuse)... and we told our little man that parent teacher conferences were coming up, and that we were going to see the teacher. Our little first grader panicked and asked if we knew where his teacher lived.

Yes, we had our suspicions... yes, we let him get himself into this mess... but, it is best that he learn to deal with the consequences of his actions now than later...

As I type this, Kahuna is taking the first shift of homework duty. No Television, No Video Games, No Snacks... Just Homework and Reading until it is caught up... and then the time for the crime...

Long time no see...

Sorry for the absence folks.... but I have had to play care taker to Rob as after his surgery he decided to come home with Strep and then give it to CJ... I am starting to think that Charles had Strep before X-mas which would explain why he refused to drink anything... and well, the house basically went to crap... so, now I think the kids are healthy again... and the husband is regaining the use of his hand... the house is getting under control... I have started physical torture.. i mean therapy... and i am dealing with the politics of the sci-fi con committee that I serve on...

Extended family drama has its moments too... but I am dealing with that too... still chugging along... I am scheduled for surgery on Jan 26Th... but other than that, all seems good... going through some major withdrawals of rock band... really disappointed in the BSG opener... and my last gaming session was a let down...
